The REEPRODUCE External Advisory Board (EAB) met online for the first time on 13 September 2023. During this session, EAB members provided predominantly positive feedback regarding the clarity of the REEPRODUCE project’s objectives. They engaged in a dialogue addressing the potential opportunities and challenges associated with recycling in Europe.

A specific focal point of discussion involved the imperative of directing attention towards future waste streams rich in rare-earth elements, such as those originating from electric vehicles and e-motors. Additionally, the EAB members highlighted the importance of establishing robust collaboration with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to facilitate the reintegration of these waste materials into the recycling ecosystem. This proactive approach aligns with our commitment to fostering sustainability in resource utilisation.

We are encouraged by the EAB’s insights and look forward to leveraging this input for the continued advancement of our project’s goals.
