Main tasks and responsibilities in the project: In the REEPRODUCE project, JGI-HM will operate and validate the Advanced Hydrometallurgy technology at pilot scale to recover REEs from end-of-life Nd-based permanent magnets and obtain high-quality REEs-oxalates. Moreover, the company will lead the upstream pilot-scaled extraction of Nd-based permanent magnets from sorted end-of-life products, the downstream pilot-scaled conversion of REEs-oxalates into REE-alloy, and the production and validation of new permanent magnets using recycled REEs. Such operations will be conducted in different locations across Europe.
