Main tasks and responsibilities in the project: TECNALIA’s work in REEPRODUCE will focus on the optimization of the advanced hydrometallurgical technology in order to gain flexibility and efficiency towards treating different types of Nd-based permanent magnets with different chemistries, sizes of material and impurities, etc. Such optimization will involve the design and study of adequate pre-treatments, leaching systems and metal separation and recovery routes to achieve robust processes for the REE recycling from the different magnets wastes.
